Time is Money

Could Hiring a Men's Clothier Save Time and Money?

Time is MoneyWe've all heard the old adage by Benjamin Franklin that "time is money". He also said: "Lost time is never found again." It's interesting how those 2 principals fit so well together.

When we think of time being money, we often think of professionals who charge by the hour, such as attorneys, accountants, therapists and plumbers.

As their time is consumed, their invoice to us increases.

But can we think of it this way... Saving time is earning money. If a person can be more productive with their time, doesn't their time become more valuable?

That is what a men's clothier can do for you. I will come to you on your schedule, I can save you time!Bill Hoffer - Men's Clothier

What will a clothier do?

Most professionals would not consider clothes shopping a productive way to spend their time. Not to mention that clothes shopping is not on their list of top 10 things they would like to do.

As a men's clothier I will come to your home or place of business, bring samples of fabrics, get your precise measurements and create the perfect garment for you.

I can advise you on style, appropriate clothing and what would look best on you. When it's all said and done, I will deliver your new garments to you, saving you time and money.

How much is time worth?

Consider the professional executive that earns around $300,000 a year, which is about $144 an hour. His wardrobe is an essential part of his profession, he must have the right clothing. If he were to take time (money) out of his busy day to go shop for a new suit, what would be the net effect?

  • How much money is your time worth? He would probably spend a minimum of 1 hr traveling to and from the clothing store. It could be longer if the first store he goes to doesn't have what he's looking for.
  • Once he has found the store with the selection that he thinks will work for him, the task of choosing the right suit begins.
  • He finds the suit he likes, but can't find it in his size, so another must be chosen.
  • Once an acceptable suit in an acceptable size is chosen, there will still be altering required.
  • So he's off to see the store's tailor.
  • When the suit is altered and ready, more time must be spent going to pick it up.

Along with the actual cost of the suit, consider the productive time that he's lost. You do the math, it could be hundreds of dollars. And that's not mentioning the valuable things he could have been doing if he hadn't been shopping.

Can you imagine Bill Gates doing that?
